Para los que no lo saben la Nintendo DSi viene equipada con wifi, para jugar con otras NDS no hay problema, el problema viene cuando quieres meterla a internet para jugar online ya que este maravilloso dispositivo unicamente es compatible con seguridad WEP lo que implica que permitir el acceso de una NDS a tu red es un peligro potencial.

Desde nintendo dan una serie de sugerencias y quisiera corroborar si son totalmente seguras o bien siguien siendo un riesgo

Enable MAC filtering on your network to only allow specific devices to connect. You can find the MAC address of your Nintendo DS by going to the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection Setup in the game's menu. Select "Options," then "System Information." The MAC address is displayed on the top line. Please consult your router's operations manual for information on where to enter the MAC address of the Nintendo DS (and any other MAC addresses you'd like to add to the list of allowed devices).
Turn your wireless router's "broadcast" setting to "off." This means your network's name will not be shown when other devices search for it; you must know it and enter it exactly into any device you wish to connect to the network. Please consult your router's operations manual for additional information.

Are there plans for Nintendo DSi games that are compatible with WPA security?
There are no Nintendo DSi games with online play that have been announced.



Bueno, espero sus respuestas....

Revisa si tu router te da la opción de crear una red para "visitantes", algunos routers caseros lo permiten incluso se puede limitar la cantidad de megas que puedes descargar de ella y aislar de la red "normal".

si tu router tiene esa opción, puede ser tu solución, de lo contrario te recomiendo seguir los consejos de nintendo, filtrando el acceso por mac, ocultando tu SSID y confiar en que no tengas un vecino "curioso".

yo lo que haría sería poner otro access point y activarle la wep a ese, y lo conecto al enrutador principal y únicamente lo enciendo cuando desee jugar con los nintendos ds ;)
